University and Skills
Education is the root of success and prosperity. Higher education is crucial to building the skills and requirements needed for many jobs in our modern economy. However, the state cannot afford to subsidise every student's tuition fees, let alone pay for them completely. However, The People's Party UK feels that the state should pay for the fees of promising students, as we feel that any high achieving students should be able to go into higher education regardless of their backgrounds, as we look into the future and see the benefit and need of skilled workers in our economy.
The state will pay for the tuition fees of students who have achieved high results at secondary and further education regardless of background.
If there is a shortage of skilled workers in a particular area of our economy, e.g. Doctors, the state will subsidise or cover fully the tuition fees of high achieving students in return for a guarantee they will stay in the UK and work in that area for a pre-determined amount of time.
